Chakai for 30 th Anniversary of the sisterhood of Wollongong and Kawasaki

To celebrate the 30 th Anniversary of the sisterhood of Wollongong and Kawasaki City, the President of Urasenke Kawasaki Chapter, Mr. Tetsuro Kato, held Chado demonstrations in Wollongong. Mr. Kato invited the Lord Mayor of Wollongong, Cr. Gordon Bradbery OAM, and Kawasaki City Mayor Fukui and his delegation. Association members helped with the event.

In Wollongong Art Gallery, we set up a Misono-dana in front of lots of chairs. We put a fan on an alcove stand, “Kacho fugetsu wo tanoshimu” (Enjoy the beauty of nature) written by Zabosai Oiemoto.

Chado Demonstration for 21st Anniversary of the relationship between Gosford and Edogawa

Gosford city formed a Sister City Agreement with Edogawa-ku (Part of Tokyo) in
1988. Through this relationship Gosford city has received a beautiful Traditional Japanese Garden as their gift from Edogawa council. This Garden officially opened in September 1994. In celebration of the 21st anniversary Gosford City Council hosted a family cultural day. On the day there were many Japanese culture demonstrations in the Garden.

The 40th Anniversary

On Sunday, we had a beautiful Celebration Dinner at Park Hyatt Hotel. The 111 guests included HE Yoshitaka Akimoto (Japanese Ambassador), The Hon. Gladys Berejiklian MP (Minister for Transport), Mr. & Mrs. Pauline Gandel (the president of Melbourne Association). The Association gave a statue of a horse, which is his favourite, to Daisosho for his 90th birthday present.
